Which Park Pass

About this guide

Which Park Pass is an independent guide run by Jerry Chen. It is not affiliated with the National Park Service. We don't sell passes or reservations, and we don't take commissions on them.

Where the numbers come from

Entrance fees, passes, reservation notices and alerts come from the official NPS Data API, which we check every day. The 25 parks where the calculator matters most, including all 11 with the nonresident fee, have also been checked by hand against each park's fees page; those pages say so and give the date. When the daily check finds a change to fees or passes, we confirm it on nps.gov before updating the site. Our rule explanations use our own wording. Public links identify supporting guidance or related context, with a checked date. Park-specific clarifications apply only to the named park.

What "Not confirmed by NPS" means

Some questions aren't answered on a public official page, or sources disagree. We explain our assumptions and seek clarification. We currently flag 4 questions or scoped limitations. Zion's 7-day nonresident-fee period and resident entry with valid state ID are handled separately from the cases that remain unresolved. Mixed-residency vehicle fees on fee-free days still need clarification.

What we don't cover

We haven't visited every park, so we don't give advice on trails, lodging or what's worth seeing. We stick to fees, passes and entry rules.
