Which Acadia pass do you need?

A standard seven-day ticket is $35 per private, noncommercial vehicle. Nonresidents age 16 or older also owe $100 each unless covered by an eligible pass. A park pass does not replace a Cadillac Summit Road reservation.

Does the $70 Acadia annual pass save money on two visits?

Two separate $35 ticket periods cost $70: a tie. Three cost $105, so the annual pass saves $35. These examples assume one private vehicle, resident occupants, an eligible buyer, ordinary paid dates, no existing pass or discount, and all periods within one annual-pass year. Repeat entries within one valid ticket are not separate purchases.

Which pass can nonresidents buy?

The $70 Acadia annual pass is for U.S. citizens and residents. Nonresidents can buy the $250 America the Beautiful annual pass. For four nonresident adults making one entry in one private car, admission without a pass is $35 + 4 × $100 = $435; the $250 pass saves $185. Extra activity charges are separate.

Can a resident’s pass cover nonresident passengers?

Yes. A valid covering America the Beautiful or park annual pass covers entrance and nonresident fees for its holder and passengers in one private vehicle. The holder must accompany you. Buying eligibility and passenger coverage are different rules.

Is the $100 nonresident fee valid for seven days too?

We have not verified Acadia’s nonresident re-entry period. The seven-day validity is confirmed for the standard entrance ticket; do not assume it applies to the additional fee. Check with Acadia before relying on repeat-entry savings.

The $100 nonresident fee

At 11 parks, each non-U.S. resident aged 16 or older pays a $100 nonresident fee on top of the standard entrance fee, unless admitted with an annual or America the Beautiful pass.

NPS Nonresident Fees, checked October 24, 2026

All valid America the Beautiful passes and park-specific annual passes cover entrance fees and nonresident fees for the pass holder and passengers in a private vehicle. The holder must be there.

The $100 nonresident fee validity still needs confirmation at parks other than Zion. For those parks we estimate one charge per person per park visit of up to 7 days. Re-entry charges could change the gate total and the cheapest option. Check with each park before relying on this estimate.

Park annual pass

Acadia’s annual pass is valid only at Acadia for 12 months from the purchase month. Buy online or in person. An existing covering federal lands pass makes another entrance pass unnecessary.

Reservations

The published Cadillac reservation requirement applies to driving Summit Road, not other park areas or arrival there on foot, by bicycle or taxi. A reservation does not allow re-entry. Vehicles over 21 feet, RVs and trailers are prohibited even with a reservation. Check official requirements for your travel date; no 2027 schedule is confirmed here.
